Altogether Better Project
Barnsley Association of Community Partnerships (BACP) aims with the Altogether Better Project to strengthen and develop the health and well being of the Town Centre, Kendray and Worsbrough Communities. As a joint Venture between the BACP and the Barnsley PCT to help address the identified need within the communities of poor quality health and lifestyle.
The initiative is aimed at encouraging local residents to improve their health by
- Eating more healthily
- Increasing physical activity
- Improving mental health

Community Development and Health Workers
Claire Tingle
- Graduated from Leeds University with BSc in Health and Nutrition with Psychology
- For over a year has been working as a personal trainer running my own business, currently based at Roundwood Health Clinic
- Has instructed exercise classes in the community including exercise to music, boxercise and cheeracise
- Worked with Mencap providng exercise classes, guidance on healthy balanced diets, everyday lifestyle contributors and health information days including working towards providing exercise classes for people with learning disabilities
- Set up Kingstone Cheerleading Squad, with another coach, applying for funding, attending competitions and running holiday cheer camps
- Carried out a number of cheerleading workshops for the Council all across the Borough, working with the Youth Participation workers

- Graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 20089 with a BSc in Physical Education & Youth Sport
- Worked for past year as a Youth Participation Worker in Wombwell & Darfield, involving enabling young people to influence decisions which were made in their community.
- Worked as a Multi-Sports Coach for Sport Activ and Total Sporting Solutions, coaching sports sessions to young people of all ages

- Worked voluntarily on a placement at Barnsley Football Club, fooball in the community programme and on occasion football coaching for kick start programme
