If your Organisation works with Children and / or Vulnerable Adults, your staff / volunteers may need to have a CRB Disclosure at either a standard or enhanced level. BACP has had Umbrella Body Status since 2003 and offers a comprehensive Disclosure application service.
Our dedicated account management service offers a 'one stop shop' from application form completion, ID checks, fraud awareness to sector expertise and procedure. We help and support your organisation to complete CRB applications.
Our service is professional, quick and cost effective. We are happy to visit your organisation to take you through the process step by step.
We try to keep our Admin fee at a minimum for the benefit of Community and Voluntary groups.

ISA Registration & the Vetting & Barring Scheme - Important changes to the CRB service
The new Vetting & Barring Scheme was launched on 12 October 2009 which will see some changes in the way CRB checks are applied for. From 26 July 2010 individuals will be required to apply for ISA registration if they will be involved in regulated activites. For futher information about the changes and how they may affect you please click here.

The CRB continues to receive a significant number of applications that it has to return because of errors in the completion of the form. Poor completion will inevitably cause delays and this may include simple mistakes, ie. A date of birth in Section A, not matching that entered in Section X or a driving licence identifying missing middle names.
Other common errors include a failure to provide a full five year’s worth of address history. If the applicant has not lived at their current address for five years then Section D must be completed. A continuation sheet can be attached if required but must state the applicants, name, date of birth, full address and form number. The box at Section H Q67 must also be crossed.
When checking a completed application ensure:
- Only black ink is used
- Entries should be written clearly with only one character in each box
- If an error is made, a line should be put through the mistake and the correct information should be written clearly to the right of the crossed out information
- Correction fluid should never be used
- All “option” boxes should be marked with an X, not ticked
- When signing the form, the signature must not go outside the box
- If a section is not applicable, leave it blank. It should not be marked as N/A or crossed through
- Do not deface the form by writing outside the boxes, stamping it or stapling anything to it
- The applicant should not complete any questions in Sections X, Y or Z
- At Section C: Q20 – If a surname has changed or remains the same after after marriage or if a title is used (ie. Dr or Reverend) include a birth surname
- At Section C: Q21 – If an alternate surname has been entered, provide the date to which it was used
- At Section C: Q22 – Only enter surnames, do not repeat forenames
- At Section C: Q23 – If an alternate surname is provided the dates must be provided
- Section E – Please do not complete this section
- Section F – Please do not complete this section
- Section H – A signature is only needed in Section 68
As a result of the number of inaccurate / incomplete forms received we have unfortunately found it necessary to introduce a penalty for organisations who do not make the required corrections to forms when they are returned. Contact Alison for further information on this.
