Baseline Project
BACP have been awarded Basis funding from the Big Lotteries to deliver the Baseline Project.
The main purpose of this project is to support the work of groups in the community sector and to pro-actively develop opportunities that will benefit the Community Partnerships. In response to the current environment it is critically different from previous support provided because of its focus on income generation, for example a key outcome will be that tenders are submitted for all relevant opportunities.
This project will help to achieve a number of the outcomes of the BASIS programme.
The project will enable Community Partnerships to access a range of support mechanisms including human resources support, financial expertise and business expertise etc., which will lead to improved knowledge and skills, thus ensuring an increased level of sustainability for Community Partnerships. The networks developed will allow Community Partnerships to have an increased influence on local policies and practices as they work together and share these best practice policies.
There will also be improved learning and sharing of knowledge as networks work together with the Business Development Workers to share the successes and failures of their projects.
The project's Newsletter, can be viewed here
"The Willowbank Community Partnership wishes to record its thanks for the support and resources received from the Baseline Project, delivered to us by the Business Development Workers, Richard Vivian and David Hunter, to energise our major project for the restoration and environmental rehabilitation of the Upper Dearne Valley and provide lasting and long-awaited amenities and benefits for the several neighbouring Partnerships communities that surround it”.
Colin Heseltine, Willowbank Community Partnership
